Shutting Down Conversations

<quote>

Scripture-deniers often shut down the discussion by insisting, without proof, that Scripture lacks authority. They might say, “This conversation is over if you insist that the Bible is authoritative.” They may bring up many objections against the Bible without basing any of those objections on a true premise without any assumptions or presuppositions. Alternately, they may say, “You can’t quote Scripture since I don’t believe in the Bible.” Or they may say, “I don’t need to have a reason for rejecting Scripture since you have the burden of proof.” Such conversation-stoppers use many fallacious excuses against Scripture while accepting other sources as authoritative without rational reasons for the double standard. Christians need to know why the Bible is authoritative. Everyone is responsible to reason from true premises without using any fallacies.
