While same-sex attractions are the result of Adam’s and Eve’s fall into sin and the sin that we inherit as a result of that fall, homosexual acts are choices. Homosexuality, along with several other sins, are punishment for a different sin, that of not seeking God for every thought, word, and deed. It is one of several such punishments that may fall on a person who does not like to hold God in his or her knowledge. Paul writes to the Romans:
Romans 1:21-28 21 Because, when they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, neither were thankful; but they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (The Sin) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up into uncleanness through the desire for forbidden things that is within their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves (The Punishment) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed into the eon. Amen. For this cause God gave them up to vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was necessary [Gr. Dei]. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over into a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
As I just mentioned, this is only one of several outcomes of not loving God and not being constantly guided by Him. Paul writes more about this to the Romans.
Romans 1:29-32 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in those who do them (they know).
