For those who add to God’s words, the goal is to elevate the human mind. If we accept that rather than listening to the Holy Spirit, we sear our own ability to discern God’s voice. That’s what happens with any form of ungodly counsel or adding to God’s Word. Even a single assumption adds to what God is saying. This alternative is to press toward the mark of our high calling in Christ Jesus, which gives discernment of reality.
