Information War: Christ versus lies.

We’re hearing more about information warfare lately. Most of those who are talking about information warfare don’t realize how long the war has been going on.

Beginning in the 1600s, Descartes, Spinoza, and Leibniz built on the rationalism of Augustine and Aquinas who build on the rationalism of Plato, Pythagoras, and the early Greeks. Rationalism is the idea that the Human mind can self-generate knowledge and wisdom without the benefit of either divine revelation or observation. With a philosophy like that, human thinking can go anywhere.

The war got hot in the 1800s. James Hutton, Charles ll, Charles Darwin, and Charles Kingsley laid the foundation for today’s information warriors. First, James Hutton and Charles Lyell had to create an illusion. They developed stories about the earth being much older than the Bible defines and labeled these stories as “science.” And they succeeded. They got theologians to shoehorn long ages into the Bible.

Advances in science have since debunked all Hutton’s and Lyell’s old-earth arguments, but they had already done irreversible damage. The information warriors of that day used all the tactics of today’s information warriors. They used magic words like “science” and “evidence.” They had no science or evidence. They just used the words “science” and “evidence.” They used personal attacks and coercion.
