No Superstars

During the great healing ministries of the mid-twentieth century, people made those with a special gift of healing into super-stars. Charles S, Price said he didn’t want the limelight. He wanted to stay hidden behind the old rugged cross. Christians today need to direct everyone to know Jesus Christ personally. So many are looking for money or fame. The ministry is Christ within you. You are human with a fleshly nature just like all of us, but we are here to discern Christ the body. We are here to see Christ in each member of this body. As we all, with the fleshly veil removed from our faces, beholding, as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord, are transfigured into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Be Patient

Five things:

First, we don’t know anything about what’s going on. We need to be patient and wait and see. If you are tied into media sources, you are tied into the false prophet system, and you will be deceived. Wait and see. Don’t get impatient with God or with those who are trying to follow God.

Second, some people get the idea that prophets must have reached perfection and never are impacted by human failings. They have a big straight ruler they use to measure everyone else, but they use a crooked and flexible ruler to measure themselves. They place heavy weights on other people, but they wouldn’t even try to lift those weights themselves.

Third, prophets make mistakes. Teachers make mistakes. Christians make mistakes. God doesn’t want anyone to make any mistakes or to ever speak any word or do any act that doesn’t begin with a word from Him and continue with Him saying the words of doing the words through us. Anything else is sin. Anything else is straying from the Path. Anything else will require repentance and forgiveness.

Fourth, some people have a cessationist theology, which is a false, anti-Bible teaching. It is false teaching that causes damage to those who listen to such a teaching.

Fifth, a prophecy might have been inaccurate. If that so, then God didn’t say that thing through the prophet. Just as when you sin doesn’t mean you aren’t a Christian. You can be a Christian and be quite confused and wrong on doctrine. If you have the right Spirit and have enough humility to allow the Holy Spirit to correct you, God will get you to where He wants you.

Satan Sets the Bar High

One of the ways Satan works to discourage Christians is to set the bar so high no one has reached a maturity in Christ that can clear the bar. Satan says, “Jump over this or you don’t have a ministry.” Sometimes, Christians with real ministries fall for this and try to clear the bar. They can’t. They may get defensive. They may go into denial. Or they may realize Satan has lied to them and placed before them a falsehood and a false test.

I’ve been involved in prophetic ministry for a long time and those who taught me were involved since before the 1940s. We have learned to follow the New Testament pattern for prophecy. There’s a lot in the New Testament as to how it is to operate. God is going to restore His order. We all have a long way to go to get there. Prophecy must be confirmed by two or three witnesses. “Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.” (1 Corinthians 14:29) This lets you know that every prophecy is not necessarily from God even from genuine prophets. It also indicates that an independent prophet is more likely to make a mistake. God has shown us that apostles make mistakes, prophets make mistakes, teachers make mistakes, pastors make mistakes, and evangelists make mistakes. They have dedicated themselves to their gift to the point that the ministry becomes obvious, but they have not reached perfection. God has told us that prophecy would be the greatest blessing in the church during this hour but also the greatest disorder.
I got a silly message from a Christian woman last night. I’ll just share some of it and show what false teaching can do. First, let me say, the false teacher is far more dangerous than a false prophet. Scripture tells us “you all may prophesy” but “let not many of you be teachers.” God has a reason for saying that.
The main point of this hysterical person was a claim that prophets can never make a mistake or be influenced by their fleshly nature or insert a theology into a prophecy. That claim, of course, is untrue. Here’s a quote:
“People make mistakes, but not the Lord Almighty. Does not the word say we will be held accountable for every word we speak? Did not Yeshua say it would be better had we not been born if we cause one of His own to fall!”
I corrected some of the misspellings and grammatical errors so you could understand what this person wrote. We will indeed be held accountable for every dead work and every idle word. We are all commanded to speak as the oracles of God. The Bible tells us that whatever is not of faith is sin, and faith comes by the word (utterance) of God. God leads us. He speaks to us all the time. Whatever we do or say that He didn’t lead us to and do through us by His grace is sin. It’s off the path. God is so merciful. He’s bringing His church to a place where we will be free from the fleshly nature, free from sin, and free to always to righteousness. This is so foreign to most man-made theology that many can’t accept what God promises through the Bible.
By this woman’s comment (“we will be held accountable for every word”), and the connotation she attaches to it (and if we make a mistake, we are a false [prophet, teacher, Christian]), she has just unintentionally included herself as one of the false ones.
One thing about these people who come with their railing accusations trolling on social media is that they are not only ignorant of Scripture but they are also disconnected from Christ. They may have said the sinners’ prayer at one time. They theoretically understand that Jesus died for their sins and that He’s their Savior and Lord. They are born again, but they never have known Jesus Christ in the way the Scripture speaks of knowing Him. They don’t listen to His voice. They don’t even think that’s possible. They don’t yield to His Spirit so He can say His words through them and do His acts through them. They don’t even think that’s possible. They don’t believe a large portion of Scripture.
Some of what I wrote here may seem a bit strange if you’ve never heard it before. In a post like this, I can’t give you all the Scriptures or explain too much, but I can point you to a free book that gives many Scriptures and gives the explanation that you can evaluate. It’s written in such simple English that a child could understand it.
