We can trust the Holy Spirit to interpret Scripture, but we can’t trust the fallen human nature, the demonic entities, or the minds of ungodly “intellectuals.” Ungodly persuaders would love to have us sit in their counsel so they could brainwash us.
We have an alternative to ungodly counselors. God speaks to us through Scripture, and since anyone can experience His revelation through Scripture, there’s no question about it. The Bible is God’s utterance without error, and the Holy Spirit confirms this truth to us, so there’s no question about this revelation either. Rather, the question is about interpretation. And rational interpretation is only possible by listening to God’s voice. The Holy Spirit leads us if we follow Him. His leading depends on our willingness to submit to His Spirit, so the question is: whom will we worship? Will we worship our minds and egos? Will we worship demons? Will we worship human intellect? Or will we worship God?
