Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ~ Romans 5:20-21

Grace shall reign. This is a Kingdom word. Grace shall reign through righteousness.

That’s the free gift of righteousness. Righteousness is a free gift and a miraculous gift. God gives you the gift of righteousness through grace. Grace does the works of righteousness in you. God’s righteousness in you will reign to eternal Life. The Life will be by Jesus Christ your Lord.

Some people think they’re doing God a favor by doing what’s right and good. They think they can dream up projects to please God. God says it’s impossible to please Him without faith. And God’s faith comes by listening to God. You can’t get it any other way. Righteousness means God directs the work and does the work. If you direct the work, it’s self-righteousness. Your work might be working directly against what God wants. You aren’t doing God’s will. You’re doing your will. Righteousness is a gift from God to you. Righteousness isn’t a gift from you to God.
