Real faith comes by hearing the utterance of God. Jesus Christ authors it. We can’t self-generate it. It’s not making ourselves believe; that’s the faith of the ungodly. They make themselves believe, and we call that make-believe faith. Real faith is substance. It’s the substance of things hoped for. Real hope isn’t “I hope so.” Real hope is a vision from God about His intentions and goals. Real hope is solid and factual. Real faith is also evidence. It’s the evidence of things we haven’t yet seen. This isn’t the fake evidence of the ungodly. Faith is the evidence that’s absolutely certain proof of those things God has revealed and promised.
