They think they see Scripture. They only see their theology

“But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart” (2 Corinthians 3:16-18 KJV).

When they read Scripture, they only see the theology they’ve been taught. The fleshly veil makes it impossible for them to hear God’s voice. We need to turn our attention to Jesus and listen closely to His voice.

“Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:16-18 KJV).

Big Mistake: trying to understand Scripture by the fleshly power of the human intellect

Many try to understand Scripture by the fleshly power of the human intellect. If they lean on preconceived ideas, doctrines, theological training, Bible commentaries, or marginal notes rather than Christ, those act as “old wineskins” that burst under the pressure of the “new wine” flowing from God’s throne. The fleshly nature acts as a veil to blind them and dull their hearing.

“But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart” (2 Corinthians 3:16-18 KJV).

Turn your attention to Jesus. He’ll complete His work in you.

Keep your eyes on Jesus, and He’ll complete His work in you. He identifies and tears down the deceptive strongholds in our minds. If we try to accomplish this work or help Him, our fleshly minds are trying to deceive us by saying they can help us get rid of themselves. We must turn to Jesus, listen to His voice, and see His vision of reality. Even then, our flesh will promise to improve and obey God, but it can’t. We need to yield to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to work through us. Then we’re doing everything in Jesus’ name.

Not for the half-hearted, fearful, or lazy

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15-16 KJV).

Our enemy uses cleverly packaged news, advertising, public service messages, social media, books, magazines, education systems, movies, and TV shows to subvert us. He uses wicked laws and proclamations. And he especially uses people we know and love who are connected to the world systems. That old serpent has been using all these means to subtly influence us throughout our lives, building strong lying convictions in our minds that seem more real to us than reality. When truth conflicts with our inner fake-realities, we think the truth is insanity. Only the Holy Spirit can dismantle these deceptive inner strongholds of the enemy. In this critical hour, we can’t afford to be double-minded. We can’t afford to doubt God.

Listen to and Yield to Christ. It’s that Simple.

“You put so much effort into fighting your flesh. And all you need to do is yield to Me.” (A recent prophecy)

Christ already defeated our flesh and every demonic power on the cross. Listen to Him as He leads you, and receive His faith. Then, walk in victory in Jesus. Christ has already set you free. Sin, sickness, death, and hell have no power over you. Christ already bought this for you when He died on the cross. He’s waiting for you to allow Him to complete the work in you.  The world (or culture), which consists of the collective fleshly natures of humanity, uses every means to stop the holy Seed from reaching good ground. Good ground is the heart of someone who hears God speaking and understands His words.

Our flesh shouts: “GOD GAVE YOU A RATIONAL MIND.”

“For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other” (Galatians 5:17a KJV)

Our flesh shouts: “I CAN HELP YOU OVERCOME MY SHORTCOMINGS.” “WITHOUT ME, YOU CAN’T FUNCTION.” “GOD GAVE YOU A RATIONAL MIND.” “I CAN FIGURE THINGS OUT.” The flesh wants us to keep the fleshly nature as a necessary part of our lives, but it must go. God hates a mixture of the fleshly with the spiritual. Christ defeats independence, comparisons to others, self-importance, egotism, cowardice, the desire for acceptance, attention, or control, and much more. The fleshly nature wants to preserve itself, so our fallen natures try to short-circuit the work of grace because we destroy the flesh when we yield to the Spirit. Our flesh will attempt to convert God’s grace and righteousness into a set of rules, principles, or concepts. The flesh tries to divert the work of the Spirit into self-glorification and pride. You can’t reform the flesh or improve it. You can’t sweep the darkness out of a room, but you can turn on the Light by turning to Jesus and yielding to His Spirit.

Listen to the voice of Christ. Seeing His vision. Yielding to His Spirit. Make this your top priority.

Whatever God didn’t lead you to do, give you faith for, and do through you by the power of His grace is sin.

The narrow way is very narrow and constricted since whatever God didn’t lead you to do, give you faith for, and do through you by the power of His grace is sin. Sin is stepping off the Pathway to Life. The Pathway to Life is Jesus Christ. Sin is the act of stepping off the Pathway of life.

“whatsoever is not of faith is sin” (Romans 14:23).

Satan tries to divert you away from God’s narrow way to an old, old deception. This deception is to create or use a system of laws, rules, principles, or axioms instead of having a real relationship with Christ. Even Atheists set up a set of rules. Christians often do the same thing, thinking that the rules will be safer than listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. And fallen human minds rationalize all kinds of ideas to support that type of thinking.

The Holy Spirit will lead you into holiness. God is never in conflict with Himself. Even though the carnal nature is deceitful and desperately wicked, God knows how to communicate with anyone who is open to Him. Jesus said His sheep know His voice, and they won’t listen to a stranger. He also said the Father knows how to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask for it. The Bible says those who are deceived go into deception even though they know better. It’s implied in Romans 1 and other places. It says, “They are without excuse.”
