Why Must You Yield?

God is not like a man who wants a wife and kidnaps a woman and takes her by force. He’s a good God, and He’s just. He doesn’t kidnap you. God calls you. He woos you. He loves and cares for you. He cherishes you. He cultivates a relationship with you. He lets you love Him willingly with a submissive heart rather than forcing Himself and His Life on you.

Some people have asked why God allows anyone to do evil. Why does God allow you to make any choices at all? Why is it so important that you yield? And why do you have to yield to Him to the point where you rejoice in trouble and suffering? The answer is simple. God won’t force Himself on anyone.
