The Munchausen trilemma destroys all ungodly reasoning and science.

The Munchausen trilemma destroys all ungodly reasoning and science.

The Munchausen trilemma destroys all ungodly reasoning and science.

The Munchausen trilemma destroys all ungodly logic, philosophy, and science. Human beings can’t reason to truth. When we try, we just rationalize. We think irrationally and use logical fallacies to trick ourselves into thinking we’re being rational. Without God, logic, philosophy, and science are built on assumptions. An assumption is something someone makes up and treats as if it were real.

If you ever heard anyone say, “All things are relative,” or “There are no absolutes,” this is where those ideas come from. The ungodly thinker who claims all things are relative is claiming everyone has the same problem. And that claim isn’t true. Everyone does not have the same problem.

Godless thinkers don’t want to acknowledge this limitation on their thinking. They choose to deny the fact that they have eliminated the only path they had to rational thinking. They convince themselves that they’re being rational. They have tried every way to get around this problem, and they can’t find a way without God. They don’t want God.

Here’s the simple answer to the problem. To know anything, you have to know Someone Who knows all things, can’t lie, and has all power to overcome the deceptive lying nature of the fallen human mind. That Person is Jesus Christ, and you can know Him. He speaks to every person. If it weren’t for Christ, we would be stuck, but we can ask Him questions, and He answers us.

Someone may say, “I have to go to work and concentrate on my job, so I can’t spend my time listening for the leading of God.” If you have to think and make decisions, why wouldn’t you want the only Source of all wisdom and knowledge with you? Without Jesus, you have no wisdom, and that’s not good.

Do you have the habit of working on your own without Jesus leading you? Habits are hard to break. Ask God to help you learn a new habit. Learn to flow in the Anointing of God’s wisdom everywhere you go. Get in the habit of flowing in His love. Practice His Presence and let His glory carry you to higher heights and deeper depths.

Ask God to answer these questions.
What does “all things are relative” mean?
What is an assumption?
Why can’t you reason to truth without God?
How does Jesus let you know the truth?
Why is it important for you to have Jesus’ wisdom when you make decisions?

Bonus questions:

How can you learn to listen for God’s guidance in your life?
How can your dependence on God make your life better?

Atheists can’t find a way around this problem in their thinking

Atheists can't find a way around this problem in their thinking

Atheists can’t find a way around this problem in their thinking

The human mind is extremely limited. The human mind can’t reason to truth. Agrippa the Skeptic discovered this 2,000 years ago. A German nobleman named Hieronymus Karl Friedrich von Münchhausen who lived from 1720 to 1797 is said to have also talked about the problem, although that isn’t confirmed. The trilemma is often called the Munchausen Trilemma because, in 1785, Rudolf Erich Raspe wrote about a fictional character based the German nobleman. In Raspe’s book, Baron Munchausen claimed to pull himself out of the swamp by his beard. The idea of the Baron pulling himself out the swamp by his beard is a funny way of showing how silly it is to believe the human mind can pull itself out of the proverbial swamp of irrational thinking. Hans Albert formalized the Trilemma in 1975, describing the impossibility for humans to provide rational justification for any truth claim. We can rationalize and argue, but we can’t prove anything to ourselves or each other. The trilemma refers to the fact that every attempt to prove a statement leads to one of three unsatisfactory outcomes:

Infinite regress (each proof requires another, and this continues indefinitely). Logic has made a phenomenal goof. When it offers proof, there’s no proof of the proof.
Circular reasoning (the conclusion is based on premises that require the conclusion itself). Here’s an example: “We know these fossils are millions of years old because they are in rock layers that are millions of years old, and we know the rock layers are millions of years old because the fossils in them are millions of years old.”
Axiomatic assumption (an assertion is accepted without proof, as a self-evident truth). Here’s an example: “Evolution is a fact. It just is.”

This is why ungodly thinkers can’t think rationally. Skeptics have been trying in vain to find a way around this problem for thousands of years. They haven’t found anything that helps them justify their godless thinking. Today, they try to dismiss this problem by using irrational and laughable fallacies. Rational thought is based on truth. His name is Jesus. ALL wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him. You have no path to wisdom, knowledge, or truth without Him.

Ask God to answer these questions:
What is every human mind limited by?
Why is Jesus the only source of all wisdom and knowledge for anyone?
Why can’t your mind reason to truth on its own?
Why can’t you prove things to yourself?
Why do you need divine revelation?

Bonus questions:

Agrippa the Skeptic was right about the limitations of the human mind. What did He miss?
Rational thought is based on truth. Why?
What is the human mind and the human soul and the human heart?
What does infinite regress mean?
What is circular reasoning?
What does axiomatic assumption mean?

The Bible says God speaks, but we knew that.

The Bible says God speaks, but we knew that.

The Bible says God speaks, but we knew that.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Everyone who keeps seeking Jesus finds Jesus. Jesus leads, teaches, and corrects every person who follows Him. Even though you must seek Him, He speaks His love to you so you want to seek Him. If anything is good, God started it. If there’s any wisdom, God is the Source of that wisdom. Agrippa the skeptic explained why the human mind can’t reason to knowledge, and godless thinkers have been trying to find a way around this for thousands of years. All knowledge is hidden in Christ, and He is the truth. Christ is the Word and the Light that lights every person who comes into the world. He even gives wisdom and knowledge to atheists, but they refuse to thank Him. When they refuse to thank Him, they begin to lose the distinction between the wisdom and knowledge God gives them and their own inner self-talk. Eventually, they accept the voices of demons and they can’t tell the difference between good and evil.

We know God speaks by experience with God, but the Scripture tells us God speaks. We don’t know much, but here’s some of what we know. God is sane and always tells the truth. He cannot lie. He cannot be inconsistent. That means He will never tell you anything that conflicts with the Bible. He speaks through the Bible and every means of divine revelation mentioned in the Bible, but He isn’t limited to the Bible when He speaks. He can give you personal direction. He already has given you personal direction even if you haven’t been aware of it. Any wisdom or knowledge you have comes from Him.

Your Transformation Journey by Grace through Faith isn’t a random journey. It’s very specific. You aren’t looking for a spiritual experience or just any old voice to guide you. You want The Creator God. You want Jesus Christ. There are many voices in the world, and there are many spirits, but there is only one Holy Spirit of God. And God promises that you will find Him and only Him if you seek Him and only Him. That’s why imaginary friends or spirit guides are so dangerous. They seem like fun until they aren’t fun. Jesus isn’t an imaginary friend. He is real and genuine. He is the Truth and the Life.

Ask God to answer these questions:

How do you seek Jesus now other than this devotional?
What does it mean to you that God is the Source of all wisdom?
What is your mind missing when it tries to reason without God?
What is the difference between Jesus and an imaginary friend?
How do you know God speaks?

Bonus questions:

Why is it important that you seek only the Holy Spirit?
What does it mean to you that God cannot lie?
How does Jesus speak His love to you?
Why does God speak to people who don’t believe in Him?
How can you know if you’re hearing from God or just your own thoughts?
What does it mean that Jesus is the Word and the Light?

Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

Jesus is the Light, and He gives light to every person, even atheists.

Jesus is the Light, and He gives light to every person, even atheists.

Jesus is the Light, and He gives light to every person, even atheists.

Jesus answered. “For this reason I was born and have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to My voice.” (John 18:37). He said, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Father” (Matthew 4:4). He said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27) and “Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God” (John 8:47)

John wrote about Jesus and said, “The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, yet the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him. But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:9-12). Here’s some guidance from the Law: “You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you” (Deuteronomy 4:2).

Jesus is the Light, and He gives light to everyone. Some people acknowledge Jesus, and He directs their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Others refuse to acknowledge Jesus, and they go into darkness. (Romans 1:19-32) The reason they go into darkness is that the human mind is useless, deceptive, and evil without God. Without God, the human mind is Godless. The human mind can’t reason to truth, and rational thought must be based on truth. Every secular method of reasoning depends on axioms, which are unproven and unprovable statements that are accepted as fact without evidence. Without truth, rational thought is impossible. Without God, truth is impossible.

God created everything by speaking. He spoke the world into existence.

God speaks to you because that’s how He starts things. He won’t force Himself on you, but He needs you to cooperate with Him. He asks you to look for Him and find Him. Everyone who keeps seeking God finds God.

Ask God to answer these questions.
What does it mean for you to “belong to the truth”?
How can you hear God’s voice more clearly than you do now?
How can you help a friend to look for and find God?
Since Jesus gives light to everyone and all wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him, what does that tell you about an atheist who has wisdom or knowledge on a certain subject? (Note that although much of what ungodly intellectuals and experts say is false, they are right sometimes.)
Why do some people not acknowledge Jesus?
Bonus questions:

What does it mean that God created everything by speaking?
Why does God ask you to cooperate with Him?
What does it mean for you to cooperate with God?
Why does the Bible say the human mind is evil without God?
What happens to people who continue to refuse to acknowledge Jesus?
Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

GOD COMMUNICATES

GOD COMMUNICATES

GOD COMMUNICATES

The Bible says God speaks. We are without excuse before God if we fail to acknowledge, thank, and glorify God when He speaks. (Romans 1) ALL knowledge and wisdom come from Him. He’s the only source. Demons speak too, but God is all-powerful and can communicate in a way that we know the difference between His voice and the voices of human or demonic minds.

“Because a knowledge of God is revealed to them, for God has revealed it to them. For the secrets of God from the foundation of the world are appearing to His creatures through intelligence, even His power and His eternal Godhead, that they will be without a defense, Because they knew God, and they did not glorify Him as God, nor did they give Him thanks, so that they became destitute in their reasoning and became dull in their heart without understanding. And when they thought in themselves that they were wise, they became insane. (Romans 1:19-22)

“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him” (Luke 11:13)

Jesus told us “Whoever is on the side of truth listens to Me” (John 18:37).

God is the one who begins your journey to become more like Jesus. 1 John 4:19 says God loved us first, so you can love Him back. Philippians 2:13 tells you God helps you want to do good things. You need to trust God to help you change. He’s not just changing what you do; He’s changing what you are.

From this time forward, Bible reading will change for you. You will begin to notice verses you never noticed before. These verses tell you God speaks, and they tell you how He speaks. God will continue to comfort you and encourage you to listen closely to His voice.

Ask God to answer these questions.
Why does the Bible say you are without excuse if you don’t thank and glorify God?
How do you know the difference between God’s voice and other voices?
What are the secrets of God that are revealed to you?
What happens if you don’t thank God or give Him glory?
How does God help you change to become more like Jesus?
Bonus questions:

Who are Jesus’ sheep?
How do Jesus’ sheep hear His voice?
Why do you need to live by every word that comes from God?
Why can’t some people hear God’s words?
What does it mean to receive Jesus and become a child of God?
Why did some people not receive Jesus when He came into the world?
Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

Some people claim God doesn’t speak.

Some people claim God doesn’t speak.

Some people claim God doesn’t speak.

Some people think God doesn’t speak. It’s very common for schools and media to claim only natural explanations are valid, and that makes this problem worse. Some even think God doesn’t exist. Then there are those who think God used to speak, but He doesn’t do that anymore. They think God left the Bible behind so we can read the Bible and figure things out from there. And yet, God does speak. He speaks to every person, but some refuse to thank Him or glorify Him. The fact is that we don’t have the capacity to figure the Bible out. That’s why good sincere people argue about what the Bible says. But look at what the Bible does say about God speaking.

“Whoever is on the side of truth listens to Me” (John 18:37)

“Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Father” (Matthew 4:4)

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27)

”Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God” (John 8:47)

“The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.” (John 1:9-12 goes on to make it clear this Light is Jesus.)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Ask God to answer these questions:

Why do skeptics and atheists claim God doesn’t speak or doesn’t exist?
Why do people interpret the Bible differently if God speaks through it?
Why do you need divine guidance to truly understand the Bible?
What does it mean for you to be on the side of truth?
What does it mean for you to live by every word that comes from God?

Bonus questions:

How do you hear God’s voice?
Why do some people not hear God’s words?
How can you trust God with all your heart?

Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

God wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

God wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

God wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

Ephesians 4:11-16 “And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,

This is generally called the five-fold ministry. In Scripture, “apostle” refers to an office. There are two apostolic offices: elder and deacon. Don’t confuse these two offices with local elders and deacons. In Scripture, we see Paul, a traveling elder, directing the work of traveling deacons such as Timothy. They are similar offices, but the scope is different. Apostles travel from church to church. Scripture says these traveling elders and deacons receive a living from the offerings of the church members. Prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are ministries. This becomes harder to understand since local elders pastor (care for as a shepherd) the local church members.

“to equip the saints for works of ministry and to build up the body of Christ, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ.”

This is the gradual transformation process that’s all over Scripture. It will come to completeness at one point. The fleshly nature will not be a problem then. Sickness and death will be things of the past. It becomes obvious that this maturing process isn’t an individual walk. We walk as a body. May the church come into conformity with the Holy Spirit.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed about by the waves and carried around by every wind of teaching and by the clever cunning of men in their deceitful scheming.

That’s maturity. Christ is fully formed within. The flesh has lost all power. It appears, from other Scriptures, this may be associated with the redemption of our bodies.

Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head. From Him the whole body, fitted and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love through the work of each individual part.

The church was not designed to have one minister or a ministry team that sits in the front to minister to the people in the audience. It’s a body that builds itself up in love. The elders’ main job is to make sure every member is entering into his or her ministry to the fullest. It changes the nature of the church service to look like 1 Corinthians 14.

Ask God to answer these questions.
What does it mean for you to mature into the “full measure of the stature of Christ”?
Why do you need to grow together as a part of the body and not alone?
What does it mean for you to speak the truth in love?
How does the church “build itself up in love”?
Why isn’t the church supposed to have just one minister doing everything?
Bonus questions:

What does 1 Corinthians 14 say about what a church service should look like?
What is the difference between a traveling elder and a local elder?
How do prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers help the church?
What is the five-fold ministry?
What is an apostle?
Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

What does it mean that Jesus authors faith in your heart?

What does it mean that Jesus authors faith in your heart?

What does it mean that Jesus authors faith in your heart?

When you look to the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:16, Isaiah 45:22), the Father speaks the Word (Jesus) in some form of leading (John 1:1, 14, Hebrews 1:1-2).

If you receive that leading, Jesus authors faith in your heart (Hebrews 12:2, Romans 10:17). This is the faith of the Son of God, God’s Word. When you receive that faith, the Son of God is manifested in you in the form of belief you call “faith” (Galatians 2:20, 2 Corinthians 13:5). You believe, and yet not you, but Christ. At that point, you have the full authority of Christ to do the Father’s will (John 14:12, Matthew 28:18-20). You received the vision and see His image as if looking into a mirror in your brothers and sisters and yourself and realize who you are in Christ and how you fit into His body (Colossians 1:27, 1 John 3:2).

But Christ has not yet finished the work of faith. Faith without works is dead (James 2:26), which is why faith gives you access to grace (Romans 5:1-2, Ephesians 2:8).

And grace then abounds to you through Christ to do the work God has given you to do (2 Corinthians 9:8, Philippians 2:13). The Holy Spirit obeys the Father through you.

Your part is to yield (John 16:13-14, Galatians 5:16-17, Romans 8:14, James 4:7). You let go and let God (Romans 6:13, Romans 12:1).

He says the words by His power or does the acts by His power. That Word (Jesus) the Father spoke is the seed of the Sower that has found good ground in your heart (Luke 8:11, 15). This is transformation (Romans 8:29). It is Christ formed in you (2 Corinthians 3:18, Galatians 4:19). It is a measure of holiness added to you, and, in that thing, you are changed forever.

These minor changes continue from glory to glory (1 John 3:3, 2 Peter 1:5-8) until the day the work will be complete (Philippians 1:6, 2 Corinthians 3:18).

Ask God to answer these questions.
How does God speak the Word (Jesus) to you?
What does it mean that Jesus authors faith in your heart?
What is the power of God’s grace, and what does it do?
How does grace do God’s work through you?
How do you let go and let God?
Bonus questions:

What does it mean for the Holy Spirit to obey the Father through you?
What is the Seed that finds good ground in your heart?
How do these changes happen from glory to glory?
What does it mean to look to the Lord?
How is Christ formed in you?
What does the phrase mean: “faith without works is dead?”
Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

God speaks. When you look to the Lord, the Father speaks the Word (Jesus) in some form of leading. If you receive that leading, Jesus authors faith in your heart. This is the faith of the Son of God, God’s Word. When you receive that faith, the Son of God is manifested in you in the form of belief. You believe, and yet not you, but Christ. Faith gives you access to grace. Grace does God’s work through you. You yield. Then the flesh dies a little bit and Christ is formed more fully in your mind.

2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

You yield to God’s Spirit

Romans 6:13 “Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.”

God transforms you

Romans 6:19 “I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to escalating wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.”

IMPORTANT: Righteousness is Christ working through you to do the Father’s will in the moment. Holiness is Christ permanently formed in you, which is the definition of spiritual maturity.

IMPORTANT: When the Father leads, He is the Sower. He sows the Seed (the Word, Jesus) into your heart. You can reject it. If you receive it, the Seed finds good ground and brings forth fruit. It also transforms you.

Ask God to answer these questions:

1. What happens when you yield to God’s Spirit?
2. How does God transform you?
3. What does it mean to present yourself to God?
4. What is righteousness?
5. How does righteousness lead to holiness?

Bonus questions:

1. How are you transformed into the image of Christ; what is the process?
2. How is that different or the same as you growing into Christ and becoming more like Him?
Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

God leads you through Scripture and every means of divine revelation mentioned in Scripture.

God leads you through Scripture and every means of divine revelation mentioned in Scripture.

God leads you through Scripture and every means of divine revelation mentioned in Scripture.

God speaks. He leads, teaches, and corrects us. He speaks through Scripture and every means of divine revelation mentioned in Scripture. We hear His voice when a brother or sister in Christ speaks by the Holy Spirit. We look for the day when we only speak by the Holy Spirit. When the Father speaks, Jesus Christ (the Word or Utterance of God) authors faith in your heart. You have to be willing to receive this faith. You have to listen to the voice of the Father. God allows you to resist Him, and He forces Himself on no one.

That faith that comes gives you access to God’s grace. God’s grace is God’s power to do or say whatever the Father led you to do or say. You yield to His grace and allow His grace to flow in love through you to do the Father’s will.

Faith accesses grace

Romans 5:1b-2a “our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand.”

Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,” Note that the grace is through faith.

Grace does God’s righteousness through you

James 1:22 “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

James 2:17 “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”

1 Corinthians 15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not in vain. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”

1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

Ask God to answer these questions:

How does the process of receiving faith from God lead to your transformation?
What difference does your willingness to receive God’s faith make in this transformation?
How do you yield to God’s grace?
How can you actively yield to God’s grace in your daily life to allow God’s power to work through you?
Now you know the relationship between faith and grace as described in Romans 5:1-2, Ephesians 2:8. What does that tell you about your dependence on God’s power, rather than your own abilities for daily living?

Bonus questions:

Now that you see the Scriptures (James 1:22, James 2:17, 1 Corinthians 15:10) show the active nature of faith, what does it look like when you live out your faith through your works that are empowered by God’s grace?
Now that you know what it means to “walk in the light” as described in 1 John 1:7, how does your walking in the light affect your fellowship with other believers?
How does God speak to you through other people?
How is God’s grace different from God’s mercy or forgiveness?
How does grace help you do what God wants you to do?
Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love. God designed your mind to flow in His Spirit. It won’t work properly without His presence. Learn to stand in God’s presence and hear His voice. Then teach others to do the same.
