Be careful what you allow others to put into your mind. Each of us also has a will. We have the ability to direct our attention to one thing or another. The human mind isn’t capable of self-generating truth. In fact, the Bible tells us the human mind is deceitful and desperately wicked. For these reasons, it’s not a question of whether we have these senses or abilities. The question is whether the data coming into our minds is true or false. Where is that data coming from? What spirit is behind it? What source are we directing our minds toward?
Three possible sources exist. The fallen, deceitful, and desperately wicked human mind, demons and spiritual evil, or Jesus Christ. Which of those three will you direct your senses toward? ALL wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ. There is no source for knowledge of the Truth or real wisdom other than Christ. Demons have been around for thousands of years and also have a form of wisdom and knowledge that James writes about.
James 3:14-16 says, “But if you harbor bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast in it or deny the truth. Such wisdom does not come from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every evil practice.
So, demons speak into your senses and try to captivate you and destroy you. They speak through social media, AI, teachers in classrooms, news media, politicians, books, magazines, and many other ways. These are not always demonic voices, so you need spiritual eyes and ears–which you receive by seeking Christ with your whole heart and not mixing God’s voice with your flawed human reasoning. They sometimes speak into your mind directly in a voice that sounds like your own thoughts. They try to condition your mind. God speaks to every person. We know that by divine revelation.
