Ontic Fallacy Causes Disconnect

Continuing “Ontological Observation as a Way of Knowing” from “Real Faith & Reason”

Ontic Fallacy : Thinking we can get knowledge through raw perceptions. Ignoring the filter of the human sensory and worldview limitations. Ignoring how this filter affects perception.

Imagining we can be objective. Thinking we can avoid bias.

Purely objective perception doesn’t happen. We just can’t get outside ourselves to be objective. Bias seems like reality so we have trouble telling the difference between reality and make-believe.

<quote from Real Faith & Reason, vol 2>

In contrast to evolutionistic claims, real observations show kinds of living organisms at the level of families and only show variations within the kinds. For instance, we find variations within the cat kind, but we find no examples of cats turning into non-cats. And yet some people think they see ontological evidence for these stories about supposed past events when they only see a vision that comes out of their own deceitful minds.
