Righteousness is Christ doing His works through you in the moment. Holiness is what you are becoming in Christ. Christ is the Holy One in you. Holiness is Christ formed in you and the rebellious, carnal nature gone.

A slave is redeemed from slavery. You were a slave to sin. You still act as a slave if you live according to your fleshly nature. Your fleshly nature is a slave to sin. Your fleshly nature can’t do anything right. God is setting you free. When He’s finished, God will fully redeem you and set you free from sin and the sinful nature of your flesh. He’ll set you free from the demonic principalities and powers that have been your slave masters. God will even redeem your body.
